Urological ultrasound is a part of preventive care.
Using ultrasound technology, one can investigate the prostate, the bladder, the kidneys and the testicles. The examination causes no pain and provides important information as to whether a person has a disease in the genitourinary organs.
Applications:
- Cancer prevention (e.g. prostate cancer)
- Enlargement of the prostate gland (hypertrophy)
- Incontinence (loss of urine)
- Blood in urine
- Pain and inflammation in the lower abdomen/sexual organs (e.g. infection of the urinary tract)
